TED
Why videos go viral
Now, every minute, there are over 48 hours of video uploaded to YouTube. It's so many. If one of them became pretty famous, it needs three things which are tastemakers, communities of participation and unexpectedness.
The tastemakers introduce us to new and interesting videos and bring them to a larger audience by tweeter etc.
The communities of participation are places or platforms. You can spread or do something new with people who are there. Nowadays, people don't just enjoy now, they want to participate.
And then, those things should be truly unique and unexpected.
In the past, they couldn't be thought, but now there is internet, they will define the entertainment of the future.
Words in this story
viral / of the nature of, caused by, or relating to a virus or viruses.
