Jane McGonigal: Gaming can make a better world, Lesson2
Summary
People achieve more in game worlds than the real world.
They can get good feedback and good help.
Games never give them a challenge they can't achieve. It's matched with their level.
They feel comfortable and satisfaction in there.
And then, they would have spent a lot of time in these game worlds. From now, The nomber of people who are like them will be increasing more and more in the world.
Draw this in the real world.
◆Viewpoints&Discussion
1.Have you had any positive feedback from anyone before, either in the real world or in the gaming world? Compare your feelings for both feedback.
Yes, I have. Even though, it was very small, I have had it in the real world when I got small success.
I am not good at playing games, therefore, it is not possible for me to gain success in games.
2.Why do you think the world of gaming is comfortable compared to the real world?
I think that in the real world, that will be more complex. It is because the answers are not just two: yes and no or good and bad. And then, I fear to lose something and I have compassionate feelings. The emotion block my actions.
3.What will gamers achieve (talents, opportunities, or skills) if they spend 10,000 hours of gaming hours?
In the game world, they will be able to achieve all those things though I think that they won't achieve anythig in the real world and they won't be able to come back. It means gaming too different from reality.
