ShaoLan: Learn to read Chinese … with ease!
Summary
Chinese character has  beautiful shape and great form. However, it would be difficult for people who don't know Chinese Kanji characters to learn it. The article shows that you can know lots characters by some radicals are combined with ease. And then you can build phrases too.  Let's try please!
◆Activities◆
1, Please explain your Kanji name to your teacher.
My name is Mari"眞理"  which means truth. The word Ma "眞" means freeing of deceit and ri"理" means the state of being reasonable. This was quoted in the Bible. My father is the one who named me Mari because he wants me to be gentle and honest.
2, Try to write your teacher’s name in Kanji and explain the meaning of the characters you wrote.
Your name is Marve. I think that your name in Kanji is "舞美" is good.  Ma "舞"means to dance or behave. Vi "美" means beautiful. You are the person who can dance and behave beautifully. I love those Kanji. Do you like it ?
◆Viewpoints&Discussion◆
1, What is the difference between Kanji Characters and Roman letters?
In Japan, Roman letters express pronunciation. For example, in Japan "A" is ah, it's not "A". "I" is e, it's not "I". While Kanji Characters express meanings. For example, ah represent "亜" (ah)which means following and  the other is "阿" (ah) which means bent.
2, In Japan, you get learn to write three sets of characters (Hiragana, Katakana, Kanji), what is the difference among them?
Which set of characters do you think is the most challenging to learn? Why?
It is easy to write Hiragana and Katakana because they have the same pronunciation, but it is difficult to understand because they have  many homonyms and you cannot understand a period of words.
It is difficult to learn Kanji characters though it is fun when you understand its meaning.
3, How does technology, computers and cellphones, affect the way children learn kanji?
I think that technology like computers  make the children and adult life easier, because we don't use our hands to write.  It would be better for us to use hands to write using our hand to remember Kanji. However, technology helped us to pronounce properly. The computer corrects the pronunciation when we can't pronounce properly.
