On the surprising science of motivation, Lesson2

TED
Dan Pink: On the surprising science of motivation, Lesson2
(The puzzle of motivation)
Summary Lesson2
If-then reward:"if you do this, then you get that" works really well where
there is a simple set of rules and a clear destination to go to. It means that reward actually narrows your focus and restricts your possibility.
Nowadays, there is no work which has a simple set of rules and  a clear destination to go to.
We have to do more right-brained creative work  looking around though many companies use this way. It doesn't work.
◆Viewpoints&Discussion
1.What kinds of situation does “reward and punishment” approach work? Can you site some specific situations?
When there is a situation like simple set of rules and a clear destination to go to, “reward and punishment” approach works.
For example, you just attach something, or input something on the computer.
2.What kinds of work or tasks in your office that requires you to think outside the box?
We haven't decided where to sell our company's products and we haven't decided what to do. We can try, create and choose freely we want. though it is sometimes difficult but there is a responsibility.
3.In your company, are there available jobs that can be outsourced? What are these jobs?
Yes, there are. We have to just attach labels to products and pack it. Those are available to be outsourced though if we do this, it will cost money.
