Tim Ferriss 2 : Why you should define your fears instead of your goals (transcript)
Summary
This is my thought that we are happy when we think about only our goals, but we feel fear when we start doing something for our goals. Then we can't go forward.
However, the speaker tells us that it’s in imagination like the quote: "We suffer more often in imagination than reality".
If we can remove the fear, we progress forward our goals. Therefore, we should define our fear instead of our goals, and we can progress.
First, we define our fear by writing. You’ll probably realize that you always write your goals only and you don't change your present situation is the worst one that you make feel fear. It might be not easy. Hard choices will be continuing though it will make a lot them easier gradually. The speaker named it fear-setting. He also tells us that you can fight hard choices with stoic.
Why do you suffer in imagination than in reality?
You can use stoicism and fear-setting. You know that defining your fears are more important than defining your goals.
