Ingrid Betancourt : What six years in captivity taught me about fear and faith (transcript)
Summary
I couldn't believe this TED talk. In the modern world, a next presidential candidate had been held as a hostage for six years. I felt that decades ago. Political corruption is still continuing anywhere, it will be just covered and a lot of money will be used to hide it. Then people will give up to cut it. Only the speaker didn't give up. It means that we are politically manipulated with fear and we give up. However, she tells us that we can avoid being recruited using the resources which are our principles, unity, and faith. For fighting against fear, defending your human dignity, building supportive trust, uniting, and developing faith are required.
I think that she entrusts building a new system of government to us, especially she must hope that young generations take part in their societies. You can avoid fear to do that.
