Humanity vs. Ebola. How we could win a terrifying war
Summary
The story was posted in 2015.
The speaker is a Canadian physician-epidemiologist. He was appointed co-lead of the WHO-China Joint Mission on Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)and served as one of the Assistant Directors-General of the World Health Organization (WHO). Wiki said that. I was sorry that l haven’t heard his new messages about coronavirus yet.

Recently, people will read more articles about Ebola because it might give us better ideas about coronavirus. Ebola virus and coronavirus probably survive in the type of bat. When people come in contact with wild animals that have been infected with a virus and probably sickened by it. The virus spreads from person to person through contaminated body fluids. And then Ebola causes severe fevers, diarrhea, vomiting, and death. This is a deadly disease. The speaker suggests four things that are critical to stopping Ebola.
1) To understand this disease.
2) How it spreads and how to stop it. It’s important to have systems that can find every transmission chain to stop transmission.
3) To have specialized Ebola treatment centers and to protect people who are not only patients but also workers.
4) To ensure safety for survivors and burial process with dignity is also important.

When the disease curve starts to bend, just now we are here, the speaker tells us that there are two other big threats.

Complacency and the media look elsewhere are risks. Can we put previous experiences to use this time?

Words in this story
