My comment
l thought that the title of this movie was not good, Japanese movies would be loved by only Japanese people thus l hadn't needed to watch it.
However, it was recommended to me by a movie's director who teaches foreign students how to make films and how to use the Japanese Language. He also told me that it's not necessary to understand the true messages of what the movie and the director want to tell us.

Why? It's too sad to make movies. Is it because it's too difficult, he gives up, people have many opinions without watching films, just he wants people to go to cinemas because films are recently unpopular?

I think that l try to summarize why people and l don't go to theaters, 1) what opinions he has, 2) and that my comments about this movie. 3)

l didn't have time to go to theatres at this time, but l bought this book and read it and watched its YouTube.

1) Why don't people and l  go to theaters?
Probably, it's because there are many temptations in the words. Those are T.V, YouTube, books, games, SNS and so on.
In my case, l was not allowed to watch T.V from my mother when I was a child thus I've liked to read books for a long time, l found something that I wanted to do finally, it's to study English, and I don't have time and money. Furthermore, l don't like watching movies in the first place because of one famous and important movie Ten Commandments that was really scary for me when I was really a kid. It made me dislike movies. 

2) what opinions does he have?
I wanted to know why the Japanese teacher told not to need knowing true messages and why he recommended this film.

I thought for a long time that movies have strong messages and we have to understand it. I have another movie that made me dislike movies. It's the Pearl Harbor and I continue to think that it's not true and histories have to be told correctly. Although it's said fictions, many social problems became fictions are told and people don't know it and don't think about the truth. I can't allow those.

3) What does the movie of Shoplifters want to tell us?
I was really shocked why the movie of a thief receive some awards and I don't want foreigners to know about thief which happened in Japan.
I hope that the director just wants the foreigner students to learn Japanese from movies, l understand that the message of the movie is the family, not the thief, though.

In the movies, important key sentences seemed to be the following.
What connects the family?
Did we choose from kids as a parent?
Even living with birth parents, whether they are happy or not. Women might not be a mother, even she gives birth to a baby.

All families seem to have bonds, even they don't look normal. It means there are abuse, neglect, adoption, divorce, and thief. All family has anxiety and anxiety might make bonds.

Kids can't choose their parents, Japanese people strongly think blood makes bonds thus adoptions are little in Japan thus women who can't give birth can't do anything, though, the problem with the declining birth are always told strongly to only women.
In the first place, Japanese people might allow a diversity of the family, Japan looks really peaceful, though.

Questions haven't been solved yet and l think that reading this book was really good because I wouldn't read it without his recommendation.

Social problems connect the problem of families strongly, it might be a bad culture. Making culture takes much time. Societies and politics must create a better culture. Only revealing something isn't better. All media have to help it.

Summary
First, I was shocked when I read this article because the movie I knew was only one in it. However, I think that just the writer and I have different tastes but we are living quite different places. Even she tells us that if she had eaten something different for breakfast on the day of making up the list, her number 2 might have been number 1. I think that I'm really lucky to know these movies that haven't been screened in Japan yet by chance.

10. Girls Trip
Her explanation was really funny because I think that unbelievably dirty sex acts wouldn't become a good comedy movie in Japan. This is a cultural difference, isn't it?

9. Get Out
I think that the movie is about racial discrimination. Why is a white woman's boyfriend black?  This is the movie that I don't like the most.

8. Faces Places
I knew him from TED talk. I really understand that his works are energetic and attract people. I want to see his works in the city of Tokyo every day and if I walk there every day and I can wait for someone there, it'll be so wonderful.

7. Dunkirk
I don't know this movie though it seems that people who subscribe to IMAX can watch it in Japan. I think that Japanese people have to learn how to protect our own country.

6. Call Me By Your Name
Although falling in love is beautiful, I think that this is a difficult movie. It's too luxurious when he falls in love with both a girl and a man. It will be released next spring in Japan and the second version will be made.

5. Kedi
"In all great cities, the magnificent intersects with the mundane—that’s what makes them vital".
What is the magnificent? What is the mundane?
Cats intersect with usual people's lives, it makes them vital in Istanbul.
In the movie, they say cats know that God exists. Cats know we're only the middlemen.
If you don't love animals, you don't love people either.
It's true. I want to read it in English because Japanese translation will be completely different to the original.
What is the magnificent in Tokyo?

4. Personal Shopper
A person will wander between the worlds of the living and the dead always.

3. The Lost City of Z
A man devoted his life to locating a mythical lost city in the Amazon.
A man always devotes his life to something.  He is possessed with something and it means that he is alive.

2. Lady Bird
I think that this is not smart, joyous, and tender film and it's too complicated. I love to have an adventure, to work hard, and of course, to fall in love but ordinary, simple, and tough life are beautiful also. Do I envy they are young?

1. The Post
I think that Japanese people have mistaken the meaning of a victory for freedom of the press and for election.

I have to study English more and the culture difference between other countries and Japan.

James Bond

Today’s topic is a movie too.
Who's your favorite actor who played James Bond in the movie 007?
There is no person who doesn't know about Bond among the people who like movies. They often talk about Bond.
In fact, l love a man who'd been said to be the next Bond. He is Idris Elba. Probably, he's never been to Japan, he's unknown in Japan, and his dramas and movies are hardly announced in Japan.
Then, unfortunately, he seems not to be the next Bond recently.
I've heard that next 007, the same actor as before will play and the same singer will sing the theme song. The actor is Daniel Craig, the singer is Adele. The movie Skyfall was the great movie, but it's unfortunate for me this time.

Why can we enjoy the movies 007?
I think that the series of 007 is just simply action movies that are not difficult. We don't need to think something deeply and women must think that men are always do something like Bond. He is cool and smart but men will be boys. Hahaha, then we feel that we'll be Bond girls someday. When next 007 is decided, definitely previous one is announced on TV. I think that we need to watch it and I'm looking forward to watching it also.

Pearl Harbor

This week, US President Donald Trump visited Japan. Due to that, I somehow remember one movie. It's is not "Home Alone" which he appeared, I didn't watch it all. though.  I watched only the part he appear on Youtube. Hahaha.  Do you know that?

I saw a picture on the internet news before he and his wife come to Japan.
In the picture, Melania Trump was tossing white flowers.
I understood the place instantly. That place is Pearl Harbor.
I thought that it was really better to visit there before Japan because I've heard that they've never been to both areas.
However, it reminds me of the movie "Pearl Harbor".
I knew it from my English teachers. She liked it as a love story though I was shocked.  It’s because no Japanese people taught me the movie. I thought that it’s really tough for Japanese people, thus we have to have a conversation about it. 

I am sorry if the movies are not your taste.

Snowden

Today' s topic is a movie too.
I knew about this story from TED talk and I knew that it became a movie recently.
The title is Snowden.
It seemed to be released at the beginning of this year.
Did you know it?
This is not a fiction. Edward Joseph Snowden was working at CIA and he is said to expose information of NSA.

In one TED talk, (Edward Snowden: Here's how we take back the Internet)
he said that he only gave all of his information back to the American people.

However, in another TED talk, (Richard Ledgett : The NSA responds to Edward Snowden’s TED talk)
the NSA told that Snowden was a whistleblower who hurt legitimate whistleblowing activities.

I think that this is a poor excuse. I'm very worried whether the movie isn't just unfair. I'm going to watch it from now.
 

Denial

Do you know about the movie  "Negative and affirmative" that is Japanese subtitle and in Japan, is going to be released on December this year. The English title is "Denial".
I knew it from TED talk. (Deborah Lipstadt : Behind the lie of Holocaust denial) When I'd read the article at first, l couldn't understand it completely.
That is a strang story and people don't probably want to watch it, especially Japanese. It's because it reminded me of the Japanese military comfort women.
However, it's very important.
Now, on the internet, this move is announced.

Terminator 2

In fact, I don't know about the movies of the series well. Probably, l think that Terminator one to four or five would be released and I’ve heard that the next will be released in the near future. It will be necessary to hurry because the major character Arnold Schwarzenegger who commonly called Schaw chan in Japan will be older.    

When I watched this for the first time, I was surprised that he was still very young. It's in Volumes 2 but I’ve watched 2 before 1.

The first scene that I remember is a woman training herself hard. She is Sarah Connor in the Terminator series.

She just lives for her mission assigned. To protect the world and her son who is only said to be able to protect the world from the Terminator.  Her son's father was killed before her son was born. Thus she thinks that she has to be strong and she trains herself day after day to protect her son alone.

Then she teaches her son how to use the guns.

In the picture at that moment, she is really cool.

Her trained arm muscles are very beautiful and black tank-top really suits her. It became my baby goal.

This is one of my favorite movies.

People say that if you love the leading actor, Al Pacino, you should watch the movie of The Godfather, I'm sorry that I haven't watched it yet, though.

To beat someone, not to use a gun, not to persuade and not deeply supplicate to people but to be able to make it big, I like those strategies.

Then there is a beautiful relationship women don't have between men, especially two men in the movie.

I thought that it was different from women and Japan. Like shaking hands in overseas, hugging tightly, cheering and applause between especially men were very wonderful and natural because it's probably different to Japanese culture and customs.

I want you to feel creating a bond between two men in the movie.

At last, this movie has one more beautiful scene which, in fact, I already saw many times. The old man notices the scent of a beautiful woman and dances with her but he was blind.  

Again, I think that I also want to be asked by him.  It will be wonderful if such a great man speaks to me some day. Then I don’t wear my fragrance because I want to feel yours forever. it reminds me of you.

This is the story about the love of the main character Sophie.

In the movie, she broke up with her fiance though she could romantically find new love.

However, I had focused to see only the old woman Claire, because I felt like the movie told me that it's not too late to love someone even from now.

In the movie, Claire went to meet her old fiance after 50 years years have passed.

When she found him, he said to her, " This was destiny".

So, age has nothing to do with love and it is wonderful.

I had clearly forgotten this was a movie, I thought it absolutely wanted to happen to me when I am the same as age as her.

I was surprised that the English title of the movie was Letters to Juliet but the Japanese subtitle was Letters from Juliet.

Well, both letters were important, what if Claire didn't send a letter to Juliet?  What if Claire didn't receive a letter from Juliet?

The letter was written by Sophie, What if  Sophie didn't write a letter?  This beautiful story has never begun.

Anyway,  I want to write once more, until now, since I was over thirty I thought that I must not love someone. It seemed to be different. I can fall in love even from now.

I have an interesting news.
Last year, when it's Christmas days, you said that there's a Christmas movie that title was Home Alone. Do you know that the movie has Home Alone 2? Although it's still an old movie, Next President Trump who was very young was in its movie!!! and in the movie the hotel which was used was Trump's hotel. If you don't know about it, you can watch it on YouTube. I could watch it Donald Trump Home Alone 2. Hahaha:)

Summary
Yesterday, I went to watch the movie that is entitled in Sugar Blues. I continued to be told by my mother that sugar is wrong for our health when I was a child. She forbade me to drink coke. However, in this film, many people don't know that sugar is wrong. Farmers, factories, government and the media are  cooperating to make people believe that sugar is not bad for their health. Then people don't have a doubt. Even if parents forbid their children sugary foods, their grandmother always gives grandchildren cakes and say  " Your mom is  strange" No one agrees with the family in the belief that sugar is dangerous for our health. Mom is fighting against farmers, factories, government and the media alone. They are seeking for benefits. Our world can't be changed. People gradually forget that sugar is dangerous.

I regret that my favorite movie was the Shawshank Redemption since I watched a movie that is  Long Walk to Freedom because I didn't notice that those movies gave me some strong messages.
The Shawshank Redemption is a very old movie. Even now, many people think that this is a good movie.  It was recommended from my friend. After watching this movie, it gave me a pleasant feeling because a prison break was a surprising success. In this movie, at first, the main character was suspected to be the killer, finally, it was not confirmed that the main character was not the killer. Then little by little he planned to run away and he succeeded. I thought that he is great to chose other ways in spite of never resolving this doubt. Then he could catch big success even though he spent in a prison for a long time.
The Long Walk to Freedom is the movie about Nelson Mandela who is the first democratically elected president of South Africa. He also spent in prison for over many decades. I was shocked that I didn't know well about him and the racial discrimination. There are many injustices in the world. This is a true story.  Even if he was elected president, the days when he spent in a prison never return.
Your life is not finished with one success and failure. You have to continue seeking something you have to complete your mission.
